The pictures are beautiful! What is the dog's name?

Or maybe I can infer from Caitlin's comment that it is Rolo?

rollo: so named for his bumptious exuberance and inalienable joie de vivre.

I really like the sunlit road with the sign :)

It's fun to see beautiful pictures like that and recognize where they are. Glad you've been enjoying home :) And I didn't know you knew any French...

Kristin,

The only french I know is parroted from that genre of literature written in the early 1900's which took snooty delight in little french nothings ... An attitude which I have apparently assimilated.

There's knowing and knowing: I would probably pronounce the above joy of life as "Jo-Ey dE Viv-rE"... lol. How DO you pronounce that?

Superb pictures John! It looks much cooler up there! Today the temperature forecast is 97˚F, so those ocean pictures look tantalizing!

I used to read books like that, and I was always far too engrossed in the story to take time to look up those phrases. So I just ignored them. Perhaps I should start reading books like that again :) in all my spare time...

Meanwhile, it's much easier to pronounce joie de vivre than to spell its pronunciation. Here's my best shot: zhu-ah du VEE-vr-uh. Except the "du" is kind of a cross between "duh" and "doo."

That was probably confusing. I'd love to hear how you pronounce my sad attempts at French phonetics.

I ran around the house for about 1/2 an hour attempting a "duh" / "doo" hybrid. Anyone who overheard would have thought I had regressed to a primordial stage of development.

Ah well, the problem is with the student, not the teacher!

Lol. Well, at least it gave you a bit of an entertaining break from MCAT studies. When do you take that? Soon, right?
