The bread turned out OK. I should have baked it a bit longer: the bottom half was a bit soggy. Also need to tweak my poolish schedule ...
Just got back from an incredible field trip to South Georgia and Florida with Vertebrate Natural History over Mid-Term Break. Will hopefully post more pictures later!
Sweet bread-making, John! Did you use the same recipe/technique that your parents have been using? I think I'm gearing up to give that type of bread another shot. My last batch didn't turn out so well so I got discouraged. But looking at yours gives me courage! :)

Tasty looking! It just makes you hungry.
The bread was fantastic sir. I polished of a good 3/4ths of the loaf that morning after you left!
The bread looks great, John! Good work.
That bread was super good! And that trip was super fun!!
First off, I really like the picture of you and Martina. Secondly, you still haven't showed me how to make your bread...
Christy: yep! do you have a stone to bake it on?
Emily: Are you busy thursday/ friday? I'm thinking to make some bread at Martina's appt. some time around then!
I like the new pictures! Esp the alligator! I've always wanted to see one...
oh, and no, I don't have a stone. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if our oven is big enough... I'll have to measure the dimensions again.
